We believe every Christ-follower should be serving in some way. Some areas of service are “up front” and others are “behind the scenes”- all are important. After reading these brief descriptions, please contact a ministerial staff member if you need more information. When you decide where you are interested in serving, please let us know either by filling out the “Count on ME to SERVE!” form at the Connection Point or by filling out the online version found at the bottom of this screen.
CONNECTION GROUP LEADER
We need cGroup Leaders for all ages: preschool, children, youth, and adults. Our cGroup Leaders help shepherd their group, walking with Jesus together, as well as teaching and discipling their group to be on mission with the Gospel within and beyond the walls of the church. If you are interested in learning more about specific Connection Group opportunities, including those scheduled on a rotation basis, please contact Bro. Rickey or Bro. Ed. And yes, training is available!
BED BABIES
During our Sunday morning Connection Group time, we provide a nursery for bed babies to allow their parents to attend their own Connection Groups. This area of service is scheduled on a rotation basis.
SUBSTITUTE CONNECTION GROUP LEADER
This is just what it sounds like. Sometimes cGroup Leaders schedule times to be out (vacations or work trips) and sometimes they have sickness or family emergencies. Teaching material would be provided. A likely candidate for this area of service is someone who has prior teaching experience or is already on a teaching rotation.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
We have two different children’s groups on Wednesday nights. Our preschool – 4th grade students use a curriculum called GROW, which teaches basic Biblical texts and ideas to help lay a foundation for faith. The curriculum includes activities that help students stay engaged and have a good time while learning. Our 5th and 6th grade students use a pre-teen curriculum called Forged, which has a focus on apologetics (the “why” of our Christian beliefs). This curriculum also includes activities to help students stay engaged.
OTHER CHILDREN’S & SPECIALIZED MINISTRIES
- Each Wednesday night we provide a Nursery, which is scheduled on a rotation basis.
- Each Sunday after the singing portion of our service we dismiss our 4 and 5-year-olds to Children’s Church. There, they will be led through a video based curriculum. Leading Children’s Church is on a rotation basis.
- Our Children’s Choir meets in the fall to help prepare children to sing in worship services. Musically-inclined and non-musically inclined leaders are needed.
- Each Sunday morning we provide a Special Needs room, lovingly looked after by volunteers on rotation.
CHILDREN’S & YOUTH MINISTRIES TEAMS
There is a Children’s Ministry Team and a Youth Ministry Team. Each of these teams plan and organize activities while working closely with our Children’s Ministry Director and Student Ministry Director.
VARIOUS SPECIALIZED MINISTRIES
Here are a few areas of service that are fairly self-explanatory.
- We have a Bus Driver rotation for Sunday mornings (no CDL license required).
- Our Wedding Shower Ministry shows love to engaged couples.
- Our Connection Point is a “help desk” hub of ministry opportunities, located in the foyer, where people can get their questions answered on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights.
- Our Security Team is a close knit group dedicated to public safety on our campus. The Security Team is scheduled on a rotation basis.
- Our Building and Maintenance Team takes care of the upkeep for all of our buildings and property.
TECHNICAL MINISTRIES
- Bro. Rickey rehearses with the Worship Praise Team on Wednesday nights. The Praise Team is scheduled on a rotation basis.
- We also require a Sound Engineer and Computer Operator for our Sunday morning worship service. While these jobs are more suitable to technically inclined people, we can provide training for each of these areas of service.
