READ John chapter 18 and answer these questions (reviewed at Connection Groups on January 26, 2020).

  1. WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE SAY? Jesus is betrayed, arrested, & questioned.
  2. WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE MEAN TO ITS ORIGINAL AUDIENCE? The plot thickens! Why would the Messiah be arrested? If Jesus is truly the king who would deliver them….why?
  3. WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE TELL US ABOUT GOD? Jesus humbled himself by setting his own divine power aside.
  4. WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE TELL US ABOUT MAN? Men were willing to plot & canive in the dark of night. One of Jesus’ own disciples betrayed him. Another disciple/close friend denied him publicly.
  5. WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE DEMAND OF ME? God help my from betraying Jesus or denying him with my mouth or actions.
  6. HOW DOES THIS PASSAGE CHANGE THE WAY I RELATE TO PEOPLE? Jesus was willing to endure false accusations and ridicule because his mission was more important.
  7. HOW DOES THIS PASSAGE PROMPT ME TO PRAY? Lord, help my resolve to know you and make you known be greater than obstacles that come along the path…your path.
